Look, it's a book!

Had to give a shout about the most amazing person in the world, [info]farstrider who produced this baby for me:

She's a bookbinder by hobby, and asked a long time ago if she could bind my in-series Samurai Champloo stories. Like I was going to say no???

She put up with months of my editing and puttering, as I tried to get them as tight as they can be. You can thank her for their current improved state.

And, since Rumrunner had been drawing all these amazing pictures from my stories, we asked if we could put them in the book and she said yes (so she got a copy as well). Mucho thanks to her! *kiss kiss kiss* If you've never seen the art, please click here to see some yummy thumbnails.

This thing looks like a real effing book! I'm so impressed and proud. Thanks for letting me show off, everybody! And thanks and smooches and virtual chocolate for life to [info]farstrider for gracing me with such a wonderful gift!

Wow. That is just - wow. The stories are so good, they do belong in a book that beautiful. (And a book that beautiful deserves stories that good! :D)

Laura's stories DO belong in a book, and I was very happy to do it for her! The book turned out to be exactly 300 pages with the "Title Page (snerk) and table of contents and the end papers and such. . It's a paperback. . . maybe next time, I'll try a hardcover. . . after typesetting the hardest part of the process is folding paper in half. . . before taking up this hobby, I never knew how hard it is to fold paper exactly in half. . .I got pretty proficient at it. . . ^____^

It's just the coolest thing. I'm so used to reading my stories on 8.5 x 11 paper, it's a completely different experience to read them in this format. I love it! Muchas gracias amiga!

Oh I've been being a good girl. Home4 is going well, almost done.

But it is *most* inspiring, and I'm stoked that we can do the post-series stories too. Horray! *purrs at feet*

I'm still in shock. It's sitting on my coffee table so I can look at it whenever I want. *ogles fondly*
